Sounds of Light Concert 2009 was held in Brisbane on Friday 10th July at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Melbourne on Saturday 11th July at the Dallas Brooks Centre and in Sydney on Sunday 12th July 2009 at the iconic Acer Arena.

 

In its third successive year, the Sounds of Light concert has proved to be one of the finest campaigns in Australian charity work, offering children around the world a new hope and a new light.

 

The wonderful family event was launched with the harmonious voice of Abdul Fattah Awwainat, and was followed by the talented Swedish artist Maher El Zein, performing his contemporary lyrics which captivated the audience.

 

Back in Australia for the second time, Imad Rami won the hearts of the audience once again. We are then treated with Turkey’s Mesut Kurtis performing alone and with Maher El Zein in a fantastic duet. Also included was a comedy act by Mohammed Amer and finally the evening came to a close with the outstanding American band Seven8Six.

 

The amazing concerts in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane gathered crowds of up to 6000 people, and for the first time ever, simultaneously amassing 1000 orphan sponsorship pledges. Each donation will, insha’Allah, help to alleviate some of the hardships faced by many orphan children around the world.
