On the 29^th March 2009, Human Appeal International hosted its second annual Year 12 Muslim Achievement Awards at Laila Reception.

The night was an excellent success. The evening started exactly on time and the venue was at full capacity of 250 guests including Federal and State MP’s.

47 Victorian Muslim students were presented with a brand new note book, which was kindly gifted by our sponsors and certificates of Excellences. But best of all, the parents were gifted with a certificate of appreciation for their dedication and patience throughout the year.

This year for the first time, HAI also awarded the local media outlets for their support throughout our various projects; six glass trophies were gifted to the media.

The highlight of the evening was the entertainment provided by the local rap artists Brothahood and local comedian Sema Kuyruk. It was a fantastic evening with smiles from all the students emanating throughout the night. For more pictures please visit our gallery here .

First and foremost jazakumallah khair for the tremendous effort that Human Appeal has obviously put in to achieve such an event. The dedication and energy of workers at HAI is wonderful.

The ability to recognize Muslim students for their achievements is surely a first in Australia. A setting where Muslim students are rewarded as well as their parents for the obvious role they play in the student’s life, as taught by our beloved prophet, is humbling. Also, the Islamic setting brings joy to the heart to know that the Muslim society in Australia is truly up and running.

For Muslim students to recognize that their community, in forms of business and charity groups, support them is truly heart-warming.
