Another trip of goodness helping the Bushfire victims

On Wednesday, 29th of January 2020, a truck load was delivered to the town’s bushfire relief centre at the Taree and to the indiginoius community the Biripi Country, Purfleet community centre. The laod containing community donated items for those recovering from the blaze that devastated their region. Human Appeal Australia (HAA) through its state offices and along with community organisations has been organising a nationwide bushfire relief since the fires started in November 2019 and this was part of the campaign.

Along with Human Appeal’s represantatives; Amin El-Bureeny, Omar Al-Jamal, Sofian Ben Moussa, Mohammad Shokrany, Fatmah Elmeer and Raghda Assoum, Mr Jihad Dib, MP, Clr. Bilal El-Hayek – Deputy Mayor of the City of Canterbury Bankstown, Ghandi Sin from the Lighthouse Community Support, and community volunteers, travelled to the Taree to provide support to the affected people.

“Thank you for coming up again and sharing your love. We will take these gifts home and cherish it,” said Aunty Leonne from the Indigenous community in Biripi.

Bashar Al-Jamal HAA’s director noted that these trips are just the beginning as more phases of help will follow, especially for schools and farmers in the affected areas. Meanwhile, Amin El-Bureeny, Head of HAA Community Care thanked the generous donors and community for sending their gifts to aid the Bushfire affected communities.

We stood together in unity to express sympathy and chanted the famous Australian song, “We are one but we are many, and on all the lands on earth we come. We share a dream, and sing with one voice. I am, you are, we are, Australian.”

Australia is being ravaged by the worst wildfires seen in decades. A total of 27 people have died nationwide, and in the state of New South Wales (NSW) alone, more than 2,000 homes have been destroyed or damaged. Human Appeal Australia would like to extend warm thanks to the generous community for being with us on the road to goodness.

HAA is reaching out to our generous community to help ease the suffering of our fellow Australians affected by bushfire.
