Campaign description

The weather over the past 2 weeks in NSW has resulted in catastrophic flooding with the north-west Sydney region.

Over the weekend flooding intensified submerging roads trees and houses underwater. More than 200 schools have been shut fearing for the safety of students.

As a result of the heavy rainfall 18,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes as towns were complete transformed to inland seas. Another 15,000 have been put on high alert as conditions are expected to worsen with every passing hour.

Queensland has seen massive landslides take place in suburban areas while Victoria is expected to face damaging winds reaching 90-100km per hour.

Supermarket shelves have been stripped bare as families stock up on essential supplies including milk, bread and sanitary items, prompting calls for supplies to be flown in amid fears of food shortages.

Many families are now living in evacuation centres with minimal supplies. Human Appeal will be providing aid to those affected and help them get by through this difficult period.
