A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Aegean region on Friday, greatly affecting the Turkish city of Izmir.Reports indicate that unfortunately there has been 111 deaths with over 1035 people injured. There are a handful of people with severe injuries undergoing surgery at this moment.
The city had 6 buildings completely destroyed, 10 of them collapsed with dozens greatly damaged. As a result thousands are on the streets sleeping in tents.
Human Appeal’s field partners are undergoing emergency search & rescue operations to find missing people under the rubble whilst providing hot meals, food parcels, blankets and aid to the victims in need.
