According to the UN: the ongoing unrest in Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city; will be the largest humanitarian crisis of 2016.
Over 72,000 people including children, women and elderly have fled the city; the number is expected to reach 1.2 million displaced within weeks.
The main water pipeline has been destroyed leaving almost 650,000 people with no source of clean and safe water.
The situation is expected to be worsening due to the temperature drop of winter.
