Over the past week, Turkey has been battling one of its worst bushfires in modern history. The fires broke out in 35 provinces ravaging through the Marmaris & Koycegiz region. Almost 235,000 acres have been burned so far.
Luckily 129 of these fires have been put out but the effects have had a toll on the people. Unfortunately, 8 people have lost their lives to these fires & 27 people are still being treated in hospital. 10,000 residents of the local population had to be evacuated due to the intensity of the fires.
Human Appeal’s field partners have already been mobilized to provide support to the firefighters battling these blazes as well as distribute much needed aid to the victims of these fires.
