Since the civil war erupted in April 2023, the country of Sudan has been plunged into one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. Over 150,000 lives have likely been lost so far when accounting for violence, starvation and disease.
More than 14 million people are now internally displaced or have fled their homes, that’s around 30 % of the population.
The number of people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance has soared to over 30 million.
Health-care systems have collapsed, outbreaks of disease are rampant, and food insecurity is at catastrophic levels.
In the city of El-Fasher and surrounding North Darfur region, civilians are trapped in terrible conditions, with severely limited access to food, medicine and safe water.
The ongoing conflict has cut off supply routes into the area and left families vulnerable to disease, malnutrition and direct violence.
Our team is focused on reaching the most vulnerable in the following displacement areas:
Rural areas of El-Fasher, Tawila, Dar Es-Salaam, Mallet, Al-Daba.
Here’s what we are providing:
Hot meals to families who have fled and are living in temporary shelters or in transit.
Clean water supplies, recognising that many have lost access to safe drinking water or have walked long distances without it.
Blankets & clothing to provide warmth and dignity, especially for those who left everything behind. Healthcare services & medical supplies including treatment of injuries, malnutrition, and basic medical care, delivered through mobile outreach unit.
Please give today, because for families in Sudan the next 24-72 hours could be critical.
