Human Appeal Australia was delighted to welcome Mr. Said Sheik-Abdi, Head of the Islamic Philanthropy Fund at the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Ms. Ayah Sahib, Project Assistant at IOM, to our Sydney Head Office.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Human Appeal Australia Director, Mr. Bashar Al-Jamal, and Head of Community Care, Mr. Amin El-Bureeny, who shared the story of Human Appeal Australia’s journey, our humanitarian work around the world, and the impact made possible through the generosity of our supporters.
The visit was a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and explore how Islamic philanthropy can play an even greater role in supporting people affected by conflict, poverty, displacement, and natural disasters. Together, we discussed ways our organisations can collaborate to deliver meaningful, sustainable support to communities that need it most.
At Human Appeal Australia, we believe that the greatest impact is achieved through strong partnerships built on shared values and a common purpose. We were encouraged by the positive discussions and the mutual commitment to finding new ways to serve vulnerable communities around the world.
We sincerely thank Mr. Said Sheik-Abdi and Ms. Ayah Sahib for taking the time to visit us. We look forward to building a lasting partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and working together to bring hope, dignity, and relief to more people in need.
