On Thursday 23rd October 2025, the Ambassador of Sudan in Australia, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Abdelatif, met with Human Appeal Australia’s (HAA) Director Br. Bashar Al-Jamal to discuss upcoming aid efforts in Sudan amid the ongoing crisis.

During the meeting, the current crisis in the Sudan were discussed, both emphasised the need for coordinated emergency relief operations to assist those affected by the catastrophic conditions across several regions of Sudan.

For over two years now, Sudan has been and continues to face one of the most debilitating crises in recent history riddled with death, hunger, violence and forced displacements. According to the UN, over 30 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance with parts of the country officially declared under active famine.

Mr. Al-Jamal reaffirmed the organisation’s solidarity with the Sudanese people, reiterating the campaign’s focus on delivering essential food, medical supplies and shelter materials to displaced families and vulnerable communities.

This meeting coincides with current preparations for Br. Al-Jamal and accompanying HAA representatives to visit Sudan within the next month to personally oversee the coordination and implementation of relief efforts.
