Over 1500 killed and thousands been injured after a powerful earthquake hit remote parts of Afghanistan
The magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck about 44km from the city of Khost, near the Pakistani border.
Unfortunately, hundreds of houses have been reduced to rubble with many more houses damaged due to them being built traditionally with the use of soil, stone and other materials.
Authorities have brought in helicopters and calling for aid agencies to come in to the remote, harder to reach areas.
The earthquake hits at a time Afghanistan is suffering from a big economic crisis, with little access to basic needs and medical facilities.
Human Appeal’s field partners are mobilising in Afghanistan to distribute food parcels, hygiene kits and much needed essentials during this difficult time.
