Afghanistan has been grievously affected by two potent earthquakes, each measuring a magnitude of 6.3 impacting the Herat province.
The aftermath has been heartbreaking, with the death and injury toll soaring past 2,445 people, making it one of the most lethal earthquakes to hit Afghanistan in over two decades.
The seismic quakes have caused considerable damage, decimating over 1,320 homes and impacting approximately 4,200 residents directly. Furthermore, the initial quakes have been followed by at least seven tremors, amplifying the devastation and instilling fear amongst the people who have lost their homes and livelihoods.
