A tsunami following a volcanic eruption in Indonesia on Saturday (Dec 22) has killed hundreds of people, with hundreds more injured, officials said on Sunday.
According to the latest reports, the death toll increased to 430. More than 1495 people were injured and 159 people were still missing. The number of evacuees reached 21991 people, while 924 houses were reported damaged.
The latest information from local volunteers refers to the immediate aid needs including temporary shelter and livelihood support. NGO’s are providing basic needs and medical care. Our in country Partners are on the ground providing the much needed relief.
