A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Aegean region on Friday, greatly affecting the Turkish city of Izmir.
Reports indicate that unfortunately there has been 111 deaths with over 1035 people injured. There are a handful of people with severe injuries undergoing surgery at this moment.
The city had 6 buildings completely destroyed, 10 of them collapsed with dozens greatly damaged. As a result thousands are on the streets sleeping in tents.
Human Appeal’s field partners are undergoing emergency search & rescue operations to find missing people under the rubble whilst providing hot meals, food parcels, blankets and aid to the victims in need.
