Over the last weekend, the Australian Muslim community was saddened by the news of the tragic passing of one of its amazing community members, Hajj Safwan Chemeisse.

Hajj Safwan was an exceptional Australian Muslim of Lebanese descent who was known by his colleagues to have the brightest of smile & the purest of heart. He was a man deeply loved by his siblings, wife & children.

He had a passion for serving his local community as he would constantly sacrifice his time over a period of more than 2 decades to be at the gates of the masjid every Friday to gather donations for the construction of a beautiful masterpiece that is Punchbowl Mosque.

At Human Appeal he would always volunteer to gather donations during the holy month of Ramadan to feed the fasting and during Dhul Hijjah to feed the hungry through our Qurban campaign. He would even go a step further to collect donations whenever a natural disaster occurs or conflicts break out to ensure that he is doing his part to help those around the world in need.

As such, with the blessing from Hajj Safwan’s family; his relatives, friends & loved ones have come together to build a community centre in Indonesia on his behalf that will entail:

With every dollar donated, you will provide a source of light & education for others whilst also allowing Hajj Safwan to gain the rewards as well.
