In Loving Memory of Shahad Nomani

On December 13, 2020, the Australian Muslim community was saddened by the news of the tragic passing of one of its youth, Shahad Nomani.

Shahad was an exceptional young Australian Muslim of Bengali descent who was known by his peers to have the softest of hearts & the kindest of smiles. He was a man deeply loved by his parents & younger brother.

He had a passion for education as was just about to graduate from the University of Sydney with a combined double degree of Bachelor of Science (majoring in Computer Science) with a Bachelor of Laws. May Allah (SWT) have mercy on him & grant him the highest levels of paradise. Shahad was an active member of the community & loved to give back by trying to make the world a better place.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“When a man dies all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who prays for him.” [Nasa’i]

As such, with the blessing from Shahad’s family; his relatives, friends & loved ones have come together to fundraise for a masjid & community centre (along with the possibility of orphan sponsorship) that will be a centre of knowledge in Bangladesh on his behalf.

With every dollar donated, you will provide a source of light & education for others whilst also allowing Shahad to gain the rewards as well.
