Qurban: Your Piety, Their Joy

Bring Hope and Nourishment This Eid — Donate Your Qurban

Don’t miss out on some of the most powerful days in the whole year.

The season of Hajj and sacrifice is once again upon us and we’re here to turn your duty, devotion and kindness into real life change. With Human Appeal Australia, your impact travels far beyond our borders – to vulnerable families in war, poverty and people facing life with no support.

Last year, your dedication was transformative – helping us deliver quality Qurban meat to almost 1.5 million people across 33 locations worldwide.

This year we’re inviting you to bring hope and sustenance to even more communities in need.

Fulfil Your Qurban

Nourish families in Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan, Yemen and 30 more destinations worldwide. Help us deliver quality meat to feed vulnerable communities & reap the benefits of fulfilling a sacred duty.

While your Qurban is at the core of this sacred season, the opportunity to give doesn’t end there. This coming Dhul-Hijjah, we are giving you more ways to help you maximise your rewards.

Provide your Qurban and utilise the season to make a huge impact on the lives of needy people through participating in one of the introduced projects:

  1. SPONSOR AN ORPHAN FROM 19 COUNTRIES
  2. INCOME GENERATION PROJECTS
  3. BUILD AN ARTESIAN WELL IN GAZA

Help us Provide Water for 250,000 people in Gaza (20 Artesian Wells)

Water is something we don’t think twice about – yet for people in Gaza, it’s their life on the line.

Over 2 million people are left with no running water: surviving on humanitarian trucks for daily water use.

This isn’t a temporary crisis. It’s the reality millions wake up to, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

This Dhul-Hijjah, you can provide a solution and reap benefits that flow beyond the sacred season.

At a depth of about 50 metres, our Artesian Water Wells are a long-term, easily accessible source of clean, desalinated water for thousands of people who have nothing left to rely on.

Here’s what makes it even more extraordinary; every single drop used from the well you build is a good deed to your name.

One well, thousands impacted, endless rewards.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to do Qurban?

Qurban is considered obligatory upon every Muslim who can afford it. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said; “Whoever can afford it, but does not offer a sacrifice, let him not come near our prayer place” (Ibn Majah).

Do I have to sacrifice the Qurban myself?

No. You may delegate it to an individual or organisation to sacrifice your Qurban on your behalf.

How many Qurban should I do?

Each household must commit at least ONE Qurban, which will be sacrificed on the day of Eid al-Adha. The head of the family may offer the sacrifice on behalf of other members in the house.

It was narrated that Mikhnaf bin Sulaim said:

“We were standing with the Prophet (ﷺ) at ‘Arafat and he said: ‘O people, each family, each year, must offer Udhiyah and ‘Atirah.’  (Ibn Majah 3125.)

Can I do more than one Qurban?

Yes. Despite one Qurban being sufficient to fulfil the obligation, there is no limit to how many should be sacrificed.

Narrated Jabir (RA):

“The Prophet (ﷺ) slaughtered sixty-three (sacrificial) camels and ordered ‘Ali to slaughter the remainder [thirty-seven].” [Reported by Muslim].

When must I pay my Qurban?

Although it is best to do so as soon as possible – your Qurban should be fulfilled by the last day of Eid al-Adha, as the sacrifices must take place during those days.

Human Appeal Australia processes Qurban donations for the entire 4 days of Eid, allowing you the chance to fulfil it on time.

The Prophet PBUH said: “Whoever slaughtered (the sacrifice) after the prayer, he slaughtered it at the right time and followed the Sunnah.” [Sahih al-Bukhari].

Which animals can be considered Qurban?

Qurban animals are sheep, goats, cows or camels.

Can I send my Qurban to someone I know?

Yes. We currently only provide this service in two countries: Lebanon and Jordan. You will need to contact your local Human Appeal office to provide the beneficiary’s details such as name, number, city & suburb.

Is the Qurban carried out locally, or in another country?

In many locations, livestock sacrificed within the destination country, allowing beneficiaries to receive fresh meat during Eid al-Adha.

In other locations where on-site sacrifice is not feasible, the Qurban is performed in Australia or other countries. The meat is then processed and distributed either canned or frozen, depending on the needs and conditions of the region.

What is Canned Qurban?

Canned Qurban is pre-cooked meat, prepared and ready for immediate consumption. It has a long shelf life which is strategic for regions where resources are limited and refrigeration is not possible, such as refugee camps.

This means more people, no matter where they are, get to receive sustenance from your Qurban sacrifice.

What is Hard Frozen Qurban?

These are animals that are cut into 6 pieces and individually wrapped. Each Qurban is then shipped in a separate carton to its intended destination via refrigerated containers.
