Last week was a very blissful week with community coming together to help the needy in 5 fundraising iftar Dinners. Initiated by Human Appeal‘s head office the dinners took place nationwide in the cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. Yahya Hawwa the international nasheed artist was a great surprise for participants. With his distinguished Quran Recitation and serene voice he opened the nights on spiritual heights.
Community leaders, businesses, professionals stood together to help relieving the suffering of those in need especially during the blessed month of Ramadan. To ensure that have access to food, clean water, medical supplies and the much needed relief of the life threatening situations.
Fundraising
In Sydney, this Ramadan fundraising dinner was the 21st since the beginning of Human Appeal in Australia. Around 300 people attended. The fundraising were concluded by an auction contributed to the overall proceeds which amounted to over $170,000. A great turn out from the Muslim community in NSW. Meanwhile in Brisbane around 130 People attended and donated the amount of $105,000. In Adelaide, 230 attendees donated over $93,000. Meanwhile out of the 250 attendees and In Melbourne $110,000 were donated and allocated to aid the needy during Ramadan. For the first time in Perth the iftar dinner were held at the Tompkins on Swan Hall. Almost 100 people participated in the beautiful Sunday night, over $32,000 donated during the night.
Overall, we were thrilled with the participation level as it will enable us to achieve our quest to help as many in need. We would like to express our profound gratitude to our community for supporting our Ramadan Fundraising Dinners which took place nationwide last week.
To the donors, guests, volunteers and to all those who worked so tirelessly to ensure the evening was perfect, we thank you. The continued generosity and dedication shown to helping our needy brothers and sisters everywhere has warmed our hearts and filled us with utmost gratitude.
